Chips.

Sebastian Ruthenberg Wins Event #33, $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo World Championship, Chris Ferguson Eliminated in 2nd Place ($202,406)
Chris "Jesus" Ferguson was down to just a few bets when he got involved in what would be his last hand of the tournament. Ferguson put his last chips in on fifth street holding a pair of aces. Ferguson: () () Sebastian Ruthenberg: () () On sixth street, Ruthenberg picked up a pair of fours and Ferguson a meaningless jack. Ferguson: () () Sebastian Ruthenberg: () () When the last card was dealt and the crowd rose to their feet to watch the action, Ruthenberg peeled slowly before revealing another seven, for two pair sevens and fours. Ferguson would need to a better two pair to take the pot and stay alive. He slowly lifted his hand and let Sebastian know he didn't have anything across and that it was a spade. he mentioned that unless it was the ace of spades, Ruthenberg would be a champion. He then revealed a spade... the . It took a moment for Ruthenberg to realize it was a blank and then he erupted from his chair, arms held high in victory. Ferguson shook hands with his competitor and headed across the room. No, not to get paid, but rather to sit down in the Omaha Hi-Lo World Championship. He earned over $200,000 for his finish. |
und somit gewinnt er.

Congratulations to Sebastian Ruthenberg, Event #33 Champion! ($328,756)
We began this event on Tuesday with a field of 261 runners. It took a whopping 29 levels of play over the course of three very long days to find our champion. Sebastian Ruthenberg bested the entire field, which was absolutely laced with pros, to take home the title. The real highlight of the tournament was his hard-fought one-on-one battle with Chris Ferguson. When heads-up play began, Jesus had roughly a 2 to 1 chip lead. Ruthenberg came all the way back to take a slight edge, before being crippled all the way back down to 200,000. He hung in there though, and came storming back against the much more-accomplished pro. After more than three hours of head-to-head dueling, Ruthenberg managed to come out on top. For his good work over the past days, Ruthenberg will take home $328,756, a shiny new gold bracelet, and the title of Stud Hi/Lo World Champion. Congratulations to Sebastian Rutheberg, winner of Event #33! |

Event 43 - $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo
Martin Klaser - 1st Place ($216,249)
Martin Klaser dominated his first heads up appearance here at the ESPN final table. Out of nineteen hands dealt, Martin won all but three of them, two of which were walks for his opponent Casey Kastle.
Klaser played ultra-aggressive once going heads up, leading into every pot and apparently hitting every flop perfectly. Klaser had a group of friends supporting him on the rail and he was visibly excited after the queen hit on the turn to seal his fate in WSOP history.
For his work over the last three days, Klaser is taking home a very nice prize of $216,249. Not too shabby for his first appearance at the World Series of Poker.

The Million Euro Challenge
In August 2007, Full Tilt Poker.net announced the Million Euro Challenge, an exclusive series of Freeroll tournaments for players in and around Germany. By qualifying online, he won a seat to a 2,100 player tournament in Cologne. After battling his way through the field, Martin orchestrated an impressive final table performance to secure the victory and a trip to Munich where he would play a final table with five other amateurs for a €50,000 first-place prize and the chance to play heads up against three members of Team Full Tilt for up to €1 million in additional prize money.
Once again, Martin prevailed and soon, he was receiving private instruction from Team Full Tilt members Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman and Erik Seidel in preparation for his televised heads-up battles with Team Full Tilt’s Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer, and Gus Hansen.
When the cameras rolled, Martin put everything he learned online and from his coaches to good use, defeating both Ferguson and Hansen before losing the rubber match to Lederer. The performance earned him €350,000 and a spot on the Full Tilt Poker.net pro roster.
Life as a Pro
Since turning professional, Martin has continued to be a regular presence both online and at live events around the world, regularly chatting and playing with Tilters in online MTTs and at events like the Aussie Millions.
In June 2008, Martin scored the biggest victory of his still young career, winning his first WSOP bracelet and more than $216,000 in the very competitive $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or Better event. Making the victory even sweeter for Martin was that he got to share the final table experience with one of his mentors from Munich, Team Full Tilt’s Erik Seidel, who finished fourth.
Martin’s victory makes him one of the youngest WSOP bracelet winners in history, but Martin says he still has more to learn – and to teach other young aspiring players about the game. Learn, Chat, and Play along with Martin and the rest of the Full Tilt Poker.net pros exclusively at Full Tilt Poker.net. |
