NETeller Corporate Name to Change
Only a couple of years ago, NETeller was the dominant player in payment processing serving the online gaming industry, prior to an exit from the US market mitigated by a funds seizure undertaken by the US department of Justice. Soon, NETeller itself will disappear as a corporate name, although the brand name will stay. The UK-based firm has announced plans to change its name to Neovia Financial Plc., effective November 17th. NETeller will exist at that point as a payments-related brand name only, along with related services NETbanx and Net+.

Für mich heisst es nur, dass sie den Namen Neteller demnächst in Neovia Financial ändern werden, der Rest aber so bestehen bleibt wie bisher.

In an apparent related effort to distance themselves from past entanglements with the DOJ over internet gambling in the USA, online payment solutions provider Neteller has proposed to change its name to Neovia Financial at its extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on 11 November.

In their press release, Neteller notes that the renaming is the culmination of a year-long rebranding and refocusing effort to differentiate the parent company from the Group's operating brands: Neteller, Netbanx and Net+, which each have strongly established brand identities and reputation.

They further note that the new name, meaning "New Way", supports the Group's strategic vision of providing differential, bold and exciting online payment solutions that target merchants and their "online generation" customers.

The Neteller Plc Board of Directors unanimously recommends the change saying it is in the best interests of shareholders as a whole, and advises shareholders to vote in favor of the resolution to be proposed at the EGM, as they intend to do in respect of their own shareholdings."
